My name is Priska Thomas and I am coming from Sri Lanka.

The truth is that my family an I have been facing extremely difficult circumstances in Sri Lanka. It has become increasingly impossible for us to live a normal life in there.

Basically we are poor family we are poor family with six members. My parents are old there couldn’t work, so they need my support to live there daily life and my career. Future, so I thought if I stay in Sri Lanka I can not manage everything with my salary. So I decide to come Cyprus to do the job and solve my family problems to do something for the future, career and feel my parents happy. Because Cyprus is a Independent safety and a good country.
First of all I would like to thank CTAO who gave us self-employed guidance for the progress of women. CTAO has offered me great help because I’m a domestic worker in Cyprus, I have some rules and regulations to follow, and I cannot do anything without getting my employers permission. However, CTAO considers all domestic workers flexible day and times to create programs.

They teach us useful lessons for women’s progress. Every new lesson has new teacher and they provide us new equipment and tools, etc. At the end of every lesson they pay us a small amount of money, which is very helpful for us. They always offer us good refreshments, so finally I would like to say big thanks to CTAO and the organization’s team for giving me a great opportunity.
This training and training certificate which is conducted by the European Union, is the biggest welcome in my country.

This training is a big help for women’s life progress. This training program help me to receive my job offer after I return to mother land.

This certificate is a great help to me in creating self-employment on my own without depending on anyone. It shows and proves that I am a qualified person for my career, and if I have financial problems to start my work, I can obtain a loan from the bank, using this certificate. It helps a lot with my financial difficulties as well. Additionally, I can teach a few people who need assistance to improve women’s progress based on what I learned here.

So professionally it helps me to step forward in a positive way.
My name is Priska Thomas and I am from Sri Lanka. My family and I have faced very difficult circumstances in our country, and it had become impossible for us to live a normal life there. We are a poor family of six, with elderly parents who are unable to work and depend on my support for their daily needs. Since I could not meet all our needs with the opportunities available in Sri Lanka, I decided to come to Cyprus to work, support my family, and build a better future for my career. Cyprus is an independent, safe, and good country, and here I had the opportunity to participate in the REMCREAD program by CTAO.

I would like to sincerely thank the organization, as this program offered us guidance on self-employment and support for women's progress. Even though I work as a domestic worker and have certain restrictions, CTAO adapted to our needs by offering training at flexible times, with different teachers, tools, and equipment. Through this program, I gained valuable knowledge and skills, along with a certificate that holds great value in my country. This certificate can help me start my own business and even apply for a loan from a bank. Additionally, I will be able to share what I’ve learned and help other women progress as well. Professionally, this program allows me to take a positive step forward in my life.
