Empowering Refugee & Migrant Women
through Creative Methods and Digital Literacy
During the pilot workshop the participants created unique textile brooches - working with fabric, needle and accessories. It was a great opportunity to learn new handicraft techniques and creative expression, especially close to women with strong cultural roots.
The works were photographed with smartphones and the participants learned how to set up the light, focus and background to bring out aesthetics and character. A mini-exhibition was organised, followed by a reflection on the creative process and photography as a tool for social media presentation.
At the end, the participants planned what activities they would undertake between meetings, including developing a photo portfolio and experimenting with new forms of craft.
