Empowering Refugee & Migrant Women
through Creative Methods and Digital Literacy
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the final multiplier event of the European project Remcread took place in Limassol, in which the Cyprus Third Age Observatory was the partner from Cyprus. The event presented the project’s consolidated results, activities, and tools, as well as a small exhibition of products created by the trainees. Participants included the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis, partners and friends of the organization, and stakeholders interested in learning about this important project. Before the end of the event, the Mayor of Limassol awarded certificates of successful completion to the program’s 15 participants.
The European Remcread program is an innovative project that combines creative methods with digital literacy to empower refugee and migrant women, giving them space, tools, and resources to express themselves and strengthen their presence in social and professional life. The project was carried out in collaboration with organizations from Poland, Austria, Belgium, and Italy and is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program.
During the event, the key results and impact of the project were presented—such as its activities and tools—along with an exhibition of products by the participating migrant women. In his opening speech, the Mayor of Limassol emphasized that “Creativity and technology can change life trajectories, and the project’s results are reflected in what the trainees have achieved. I welcome the implementation of this project in our city, which strengthens collective effort and inclusion by cultivating skills, self-confidence, and support within the community.”
