Nadi

My name is Nadia Salimata and I am from Burkina Faso

  • Salimata Nadia participated in all REMCREAD workshops organised in Liège-Belgium.

At the end of REMCREAD she launched her own income generating social project. Her project aims to promote traditional fabrics made by women artisans in Burkina Faso villages in the EU fashion industry while encouraging environmental preservation through water recycling and sustainable practices in the craft sector.

In Belgium, the goal is to create a sewing workshop that empowers women and mothers by offering flexible opportunities for sustainable employment in the circular economy. The workshop will welcome both beginners and experienced sewers, allowing them to work freely and creatively.

She already organises some traditional fashion shows.

Through a partnership with ATEMOS, the project supports and highlights the creative and artistic talents of undocumented women. This collaboration provides them with a safe space to learn new skills, express their creativity, generate income, and build confidence. It also contributes to social integration and community building.

The finished products will be sold during cultural events in Liège and other cities, and the project will also feature cultural, culinary, and diversity activities to foster women inclusion and awareness.
